Light novel 'Isekai Cheat Magician' is getting an anime adaptation.

Plot Summary

As regular high school students Taichi and Rin disappeared in a beam of light. When they came to, the two of them were already in a world of swords and magic. Finally getting away after experiencing an attack by monsters, following the suggestion of adventurers they headed on the path towards the guild. In the guild, the two of them found out that they possessed unbelievably powerful magic. Thus the regular high school students transformed into the strongest cheats...

I think the only reason why they get LN and manga is just to fill the shelves.

Well it's (based on manga chapters), vanilla with likeable characters. Compared yo smartphone or Death march this one look like jackpot.

Of course at best this is guilty pleasure, at worst it will be trash in the end.

I'm actually intrigued. First time I see both male and female cheats instead of the usual. Though I feel a great disappointment that there are still a lot of other great isekai story that they could've adapted but didn't.

I don't watch much isekai WNs adaptations to begin with unless they're frankly interesting (last one I enjoyed was Re:Zero) and having a couple as main characters in this case doesn't change the fact it'll probably end up yet another by-the-books isekai fantasy adventure.

Adding a few "unusual" things like romance going beyond initial phase compared to standard male-oriented romcoms has no real effect if the story's presentation is awful.

I'd rather take shounen manga adaptations in battle action settings with a bit of edge than these sorts of shows, since the former as of now displays fresh takes of overdone story formulas.

I realize this kind of series being produced repeatedly over the past few years might be annoying for the community at large, but this isn't exactly the topic at hand (regardless if the source material is any good or if there is anything interesting to discuss to begin with).

Suffice to say, while I took the liberty to remove posts considered as offtopic, the subject itself isn't void of relevant remarks regarding the industry. But since the ongoing topic was about the industry at large, and not this specific isekai series, it would be actually better to translocate the "isekai trend" debate in the general forum instead. By all means, please feel free to start a debate about such kind of trend and use this announcement or any other series as examples and so forth.

And I consider NGNL to be the low-tier of millenium-isekai genre since the core story (as far as the anime is concerned) is nothing more than ego-stroking the MC(s). Like, "Hey, we have two hardcore hikkineet otakus who are godly in games while totally inept in other life skills, what do we do? Oh, let's just throw them into a world where games means everything and winning games can get you anything so that they can act like living-gods and outsmart everyone most of the time!!"...and that's pretty much the bread and butter of the show. Ugh, I really dislike such self-serving and masturbatory story. I fear Cheat Magician won't stray too far away from NGNL-blueprint.

Spoiler for opinion:

I kinda like the manga.. because it's a couple and not only one person that got transported
I have a doubt that it is going to be a harem as well

let's just say it would be like SAO in Aincrad arc but with more cheating abilities for both

I don't know about the novel reader but as manga reader, I enjoyed this
it's unfair to compare it with Death March, which its manga already dropped by me

Lot of people may call it Isekai garbage, but comparing it to Aincrad is just too mean. Isekai cheat magician is not that bad
